Advanced Drama Presents Shakepeare in Love November 19-21

Green Fields has always had the mark of excellence in its Fine Arts department. With that in mind, the students of Green Fields Advanced Drama program strive to make each production that they create more outstanding and better than the last. It was a challenge to find another concept to top last year's Macbeth and the original experimental film-play Young Frankenstein, but we believe we have found it in this year's first production.

Green Fields Advanced Drama is proud to announce that 2009's Fall show will be an original adaptation of the 1999 Academy Award winning film Shakespeare in Love. For those of you who missed the film, this is a historical fiction based on the premise of a young and struggling William Shakespeare who falls in love with a young woman of noble lineage. This romance inspires Shakespeare to write his most famous play, Romeo and Juliet. In short, it is a romantic-comedy with a lot of Shakespearean references and laughs. Unlike last year's adaption of Young Frankenstein, this year's first play will be “all theater.”
